the help of the Small Business Development Center, Cornell
University and the New York State Department of Agriculture
and Markets. Ron and Wendy have built their family recipe

Coffee and wine?
Sure thing! Bob is a very hard working guy who started this
company in Avon, NY and has continued growing it into a thriving
coffee, tea and gift shop right here in the Finger Lakes.
We've had most of the coffees ourselves (especially in the
winter time when we're pruning or working with the wine and
need a warm pick me up) and can say that we all enjoy them.

When Deer Run Winery
was first visualized, a gift shop was less than secondary in
the planning phase. Joan Kuyon, George's wife and a Home Economics/Gourmet
Foods teacher for 30 years needed her part of this venture as
well. Not only does Joan have a large part in the planning and
preparation of our events, she oversees the gift shop as well.
Through her guidance the retail offerings have grown considerably
and from the start her focus turned towards locally produced
foods and gifts. Her vision for our customers is to experience
unique local offerings that you may not be able to find in the
bigger stores. One of Joan's goals is for our customers to be
able to walk out with gift baskets to share the unique foods
and gifts that our region has to offer with friends and family.
We have several sizes of gift baskets made up ready to go in
our gift shop, or are happy to help you select a mix of wine
and local products and put it all together the way you want!

We all share in that
view, and strive to make our customer's experience here unique
and memorable. Our vision of promoting local is growing year
after year, as is the number of locally produced goods in our
gift shop. This year we are making a big push in that direction;
promoting our local vendors on our website, attending more farmers
markets, hosting a "Meet the Vendors Day" during the
holidays to help them promote and sell their products during
the shopping season, and by including information about them
in our newsletters.
We invite you to learn more about our local goods, and then
stop in and see what this great little corner of the world has
to offer.

Eat Well
& Live Long!
That's the
motto our Founder Bill Higgins began many years ago when
he purchases a parcel of agricultural land just off of
Route 29 on the way from Saratoga Springs to Schuylerville.
|
| Bill
is proud that his garlic sauces start from scratch at Homestead
View Farm. "If you look at a clove of garlic, you see
only one form...the outside," he notes. "It's
not until you begin to peel away the layers that you see
the individual cloves. That's how it is with the SARATOGA
GARLIC COMPANY. It's a real group effort...all the individual
parts contribute something important to the whole." |

ARBOR HILL WINERY
is located in South Bristol just north of Naples, New York which
is located at the southern end of Canandaigua Lake in the famous
Finger Lakes Region. In 1987 Arbor Hill was started in just one
building. Now it sits in a complex of antique buildings (including
the original), in a wonderful warm New England country type setting.
The Brahm family takes great pride in the fact that they produce
their products on the premises. In their country complex they
have several buildings; one is the retail shop, another is the
Bistro, and the rest are mainly used for production.
Today, John and Katie
Brahm continue the traditions as owners of Arbor Hill, an award
winning producer of gourmet food products and wine.

MADFOODZ,
based in Victor, NY, produces a unique line of citrus-based
gourmet hot sauces that are great on everything from wings,
burgers, fish and beyond. It all started in a kitchen with a
father and son whipping up sauces from their vast supply of
home-grown hot peppers. Searching for that perfect blend of
peppers and spices, they created a line of sauces that are packed
with the unique flavor of the peppers used in each sauce and
are not shy on the heat. Great for dipping, grilling, mixing
and excellent as marinades.
