There is a new cheese in town and it is Heaven Scent! Deer Run Winery is pleased to be carrying a line of new Jack Cheeses coming out of a dairy farm in Cohocton, NY. Heaven Scent cheese is made from Jersey cows fed a natural grass-based diet. We sampled these cheeses alongside our wines last week and received very positive reviews from the group. You can find the following varieties in our tasting room:
Dill-licious Jack, Devilish Jack (spicy!), Holy Smokes Jack (smoked), Pizza Jack (no meat, just Italian herbs, but tastes like pizza!), and the classic creamy Heavenly Jack cheese! Pick up a wedge and wine the next time you're in!

Good Morning Heaven Scent! I bough a wedge of your wonderful cheese at the Atlanta Country Store. Being a little bit of a cheese-aholic, I confess I ate the whole wedge before my husband even knew it was there. To atone for my sin, I feel obliged to get another wedge, or two, or round. I visited with the Country Store gal, and she described your farm. Then I began to fantasize about drinking REAL milk, especially May-June milk. Not homogonized, so that I have to shake it (or not) to mix the extra fat that only seems to be available from the girls this time of year. I imagine it's the spring grass. As I live a spit and hollar from Lent Hill Dairy, between windmill 18 and 19, I live close enough to come to your farm. Would it be possible to buy a quart or two of the whole fresh milk, and a round of your creamy Jack cheese? Or could I get them through the Country Store? I am willing to pay for them naturally, but would be glad to sweeten the deal with a jar of my jams (name your choice), or perhaps my baked goods (again, name your choice). I really look forward to hearing from you. I work all week in Hornell at the Elderwood nursing home (used to be McCauley Manor / MercyCare ). Name the day and time and I'll be glad to stop down to see you. You can call me at 607 426 2979 cell, or 585 534 9385 home (if my Polish husband answers just yell to him that the Dairy called...he's hard of hearing...not just husband deaf, but really hearing impaired). Of course you can drop me an email too...it's theresa.norsky@gmail.com....I go by Terry mostly, or Granny Tess. But if you let me have the milk and cheese, you can call me whatever you want! By the way, my husband is a oenophile...I would love to bring him a Chardonnay or a red wine, since you also have the vineyard. Let me know.... Have a wonderful, sunny, Spring day! Thanks. Terry Norsky
